Are you interested in becoming a 2025 Pelham Raiders Minor Lacrosse Association Sponsor?
The Pelham Raiders Minor Lacrosse Association has been a local sports organization representing the Pelham, Welland, Dunnville, and Port Colborne communities, competitively, since 1967. In 2024 we saw our registrations double from 2023, as we enrolled approximately 284 kids ranging from ages 3 – 16 years old. Our goal for 2025 is to continue to grow our Canadian National Sport with hopes to enroll over 300 young athletes, in 7 divisions, with 12 or more teams. Our continued focus is to offer the youth of this community a sport that teaches teamwork, dedication, skill, mental toughness, and athleticism – the all-around sport! With the support of our sponsors, the Pelham Raiders Minor Lacrosse Association successfully implemented the following programs during the 2024 season:
- “Try Before You Buy” Sessions: The PRMLA hosted several lacrosse sessions for new players who want to try lacrosse before committing to a full season. These sessions are free for all players and were run in February/March, prior to the season. The PRMLA had over 80 kids attend for these free sessions.
- Free Registration for our Soft Lacrosse (U5 Division), to encourage registrations and to make the sport affordable for our youngest members. The PRMLA had 64 Soft Lacrosse registrations in 2024.
- A restructuring of the U7 Paperweight age group, which included an additional weekly 3 v 3 mini game session, hosted at the Welland Main Arena. The PRMLA had 43 Paperweight registrations in 2024.
- Opening Day Ceremony: Scheduled on the first day of regular season home games with special guests Rod Mawhood (MC), Alick Feller (bagpiper), and Niagara Native Centre Drum Circle.
- The Future Stars Tournament – our signature event. A highly competitive tournament for the U7 Paperweight age group. PRMLA hosted 16 teams from across Ontario for this 3-day tournament. The PRMLA would like to continue to offer the above programs in 2025 at no additional cost to our members. The PRMLA would like to also implement the following additional programs in 2025:
- Hosting “Fun Day” tournaments for each age group at the Pelham Meridian Community Centre. A one-day series of games to help teach our players the value of sportsmanship. The teams will also competein a skills competition for prizes and will have a BBQ lunch.
- Friday Night Skill Development Sessions: The PRMLA would like to provide free skill development sessions on Friday evenings for all ages to assist in their continued growth.
In order for our organization to be able to offer all of the items listed above, in addition to all of the practices, games, tournaments, and activities that make sport fun, competitive, and memorable for young athletes – we are in need of sponsorship contributions. We recognize that your business is an integral part of this community, and we ask that you will consider partnering with us for the 2025 season. We hope that with our community involvement, we will be able to return some value to your business, through one of the various sponsorship opportunities available.
